Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 8 oz sliced mushrooms
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 1 tbsp butter

Instructions

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings in a bowl
  2. Form into oval patties
  3. Heat oil in skillet over medium heat
  4. Cook patties 4-5 minutes per side until browned
  5. Remove patties and set aside
  6. In same skillet, sauté mushrooms and onions
  7. Add butter and flour to make roux
  8. Whisk in beef broth until thickened
  9. Return patties to skillet
  10. Simmer covered for 15 minutes

Notes

  • Use lean ground beef for best results
  • Gravy thickens as it cools
