- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 egg
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp oil
- 8 oz sliced mushrooms
- 1 small onion, diced
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tbsp all-purpose flour
- 1 tbsp butter
Instructions
- Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, Worcestershire sauce, and seasonings in a bowl
- Form into oval patties
- Heat oil in skillet over medium heat
- Cook patties 4-5 minutes per side until browned
- Remove patties and set aside
- In same skillet, sauté mushrooms and onions
- Add butter and flour to make roux
- Whisk in beef broth until thickened
- Return patties to skillet
- Simmer covered for 15 minutes
Notes
- Use lean ground beef for best results
- Gravy thickens as it cools
- Serve with mashed potatoes
